[42] Into the Scarlet Monastery Form Varimathras in Undercity.

This quest is the boss killing quest. We need to kill bosses in all parts of the Scarlet Monastery. (Library, Armory and Cathedral). This time we should complete the quest.

[40E] High Inquisitor Fairbanks

Tactics for Fairbanks: Just kill him like normal Elite. He can Heal himself, thats all. To get to him we have to click a lantern.

Tactics for Whitemane: Whitemane and Mograine have to be killed in the same fight. Check the tactics for Mograine!

[40E] Scarlet Commander Mograine

Tactics for Mograine and Whitemane: First of all we have to kill EVERYTHING in the Cathedral before pulling Mograine and Whitemane. If we just kill the guys leading to him, and pull him, when he yells, every other crusader in the building will charge at us along with him.  Once we kill Mograine the doors behind him will open and out will come High Inquisitor Whitemane. She’s pissed off that we killed the Commander. She is a priest type person, and will cast mainly smite for damage. When she gets down to about 1/3rd health she will stun everyone in the group and run over to Mograine’s body. She will then cast a spell that resurrects him. She then heals to full life. Then we fight the two together, starting with the High Inquisitor because she deals more damage with her spells and heals.

If we kill Whitemane before she can res Mograine, we will get no loot from them. So we have to make sure she does!

Quests for the dungeon

[42] Into the Scarlet Monastery Form Varimathras in Undercity.

This quest is the boss killing quest. We need to kill bosses in all parts of the Scarlet Monastery. (Library, Armory and Cathedral). So here we goning to get the second boss on the kill list.

[37E] Harod 

Tactics for Harod: When we first reach Harods room, like with all bosses, make sure everyone is full Health/Mana, and everyone has all buffs. 

Padme has to jump down to Herod and let her engage the fight, all other shouldn’t start doing the damage right away, let Padme do some threat Damage and then start doing the damage. This is because Herod really hits heavy, al others should stay alert and don’t grab his aggro, because Healyum will quickly run out of mana for you. We have to stay in the ground, don’t use the stairs! Also don’t go outside the room, because you will agro 4 Elites that spaned as adds in another room, we can’t handel Harod when they are around.

Herod only has 2 abilities, one of them is really important:
- When he yells “Blades of Light!” EVERYONE stop doing damage to him and back off from his range, he will engage in a spinning move that will eat your HP like a fat kid on pie. While he’s spinning, no one can damage him, so don’t try. Take advantage of this though, he will stop for a few seconds for this attack and as long you are away from him, you can use bandages if needed and save Healyum some mana.
- His other ability (you can’t really do anything about it) is when he yells “Light give me strength!” he will enrage (something like Blood Fury) and do even more damage, he will only use this later in the fight.

Herod has over 10k of HP, and he is partially immune to fire so Fuegotte won’t do as much damage as normal. It will be a long fight.

When we finally down him, loot him immediately and roll fast, the room will get flooded by lvl 20 peasants who only have 100 hp. They are quite easy to kill, just concentrate around one place so Fuegotte can use a AoE. They will die fast enough.

Just go there and get the boss, check the tactics above.

This dungeon will be the first real test for us as a group because any mistake here may cause the group to wipe. The dungeon must be cleared with care, since fleeing humanoids can easily pull lots of other mob groups.

So maybe we get a chance to test Padme’s wipe prevention ability.

Quests for the dungeon

[33] Hearts of Zeal  From Master Apothecary Faranell in Undercity, this is the follow up of [30] Going, Going, Guano!

We need 20 hearts of any Scarlet NPC. I’ve mentioned this one at the Prep of SM Graveyard to, but we need to be lvl 30 to get this one and it can be done in any part of Scarlet Monastery… So here it is again.

[36] Test of Lore From Parqual Fintallas in Undercity.

The quest itself is very easy. We have to pick up a book from the library. The hard part here is the long chain of pre-requisite quest we have to pick up. See the ‘Todo’s before…’ below for more information. When we finaly turn this quest back in, we have to answer a question. The answer to the question is: “Ner’zhul” (Option 3). Then we have to turn in the last quest in Thousand Needles to get our reward.

[38] Compendium of the Fallen From Sage Truthseeker in Thunder Bluff.

We have to pick up a book in the last part of the dungeon.

[42] Into the Scarlet Monastery Form Varimathras in Undercity.

This quest is the boss killing quest. We need to kill bosses in al parts of the Scarlet Monastery. (Library, Armory and Cathedral). After killing the boss in the Library part we have to pick up the Scarlet key behind him. We need this key to get attuned for the Armory and Cathedral parts.

TODO’s before entering the dungeon

First we can pick up the quest [38] Compendium of the Fallen  in Thunder Bluff. Second step is to get de questchain done for [36] Test of Lore. Here it is:

1. Pickup [26] Test of Faith from Dorn Plainstalker in Thousand Needles
2. DON’T jump yet… if we do we’ll die. Instead, turn around and find the planks slightly behind us and to the left. From there we jump…..   it realy is a test of faith.   Almost as soon as we have JUMPED off the edge, we’ll see “Quest Completed”. About 75 percent of the way down we’ll be teleported back where the guy will reward us.
3. Now we can get the follow up [30] Test of Endurance.
4. Get to 27,49 and kill Grenka, easy as hell. Not realy a test of endurance.
5. Turn the quest back in and get [30] Test of Strength and kill Rok’Alim allong the south side of Thousand Needles (between 11,22 and 26,42)
6. The followup [30] Test of Lore brings us to Braug Dimspirit in Stonetalon Mountains (76,74). Here we have to pick up a book in his cave, answer a question (Answer is Neltharion option 2)
7. Now we have to go to Undercity and talk to Parqual Fintallas who will give us the dungeon quest [36] Test of Lore

Now that we are in Undercity we can pick up the other 1or 2 quests.

[33] Hearts of Zeal  From Master Apothecary Faranell in Undercity, this is the follow up of [30] Going, Going, Guano!

We need 20 hearts of any Scarlet NPC.

[33] Vorrel’s Revenge from Vorrel Sengutz inside the dungeon.

We need to kill Interrigator Vishas.  After that, the dude should say “Finally, the bastard got what he deserved.”  Then he should give us the quest.

This is a very small dungeon with little preperation:

Pick up the followup quest in Undercity, that’s it……    no realy, that’s it.

BUT. Because this is a short instance run. We have the time to do some preparation for the next dungeon Scarlet Monastery Library, that has a long list of pre-requisites. Otherwise we will not have enough time next Monday.
